Savoury Quark Energy Balls

These energy balls are a great bite-sized snack to give you a little boost of energy anytime of the day, but could be perfect post-exercise. Packed with nutrients they offer a savoury variation to the standard energy balls. The dried fruit and nuts give you the energy and add a natural sweetness to this savoury snack. They are quick to make, you can go from prep to snack in less than 15 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 120g Full Fat Soft Cheese
  • 300g Quark
  • 75g Dried Apricots
  • 60g Dried Figs
  • 50g Dried Dates
  • 20g Starch
  • 20g Pumpkin Seeds
  • 20g Sunflower Seeds
  • 10g Sesame Seeds
  • 20g Hazelnuts
  • 20g Walnuts

Method:

  • Separately, lightly toast the nuts and seeds on a dry pan. Leave to cool, then crush them.
  • Chop the dried fruit.
  • Mix the fruit, quark, soft cheese and starch.
  • Roll into 12 balls and cool them down till firm.
  • Roll 6 balls in the nut mix, and the other 6 balls in the seed mix.
